Cell Phone Policy
Huntingdon Law Association
Summary: We would not be a company without our employees. However, there are some distractions that are distracting us from our work. Social media/cell phones are a big distraction in the workplace. We as employees need to strive to not be distracted and focus on our work. Excessive use of personal cell phones will not be tolerated in this company.
Reasons for this policy:
- Better our service to our customers
- Be polite to those who are talking to you
- Listen in the meetings
- Work faster
- Accomplish more throughout the day
We as a company will not confiscate the phones of the employees, however, if we do see employees continuously on their phones after reading this policy, we will not hesitate to confiscate the phone at the beginning of the work day.
What will not be tolerated:
- The use of any social media during work hours
- This includes, Snapchat, Instagram, Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- The use of excessive texting
- Personal phone calls
- The use of phones during meetings
-Under no circumstances are any personal cell phones to be seen out
- The use of personal phones to play games
- Purchasing personal items online during work hours
- This includes, clothes, shoes, household items, etc.
What will be tolerated:
- The use of personal cell phones to text if and only if it’s an emergency
- If a family member needs to speak to you quickly, they may call the office
- These phone calls may not be any longer than ten minutes
- The only time employees may excessively use their phones is if they are on break, clocked out
We understand that most employees have families and are needed in certain situations. We as a company try to be sensitive to that, however, if this privilege is abused, we will confiscate your phone.
Posting on Social Media about Huntingdon Law Association
- Employees are not permitted to post on social media about HLA
- Employees are not permitted to post on social media about fellow co-workers
- Employees will keep our customers information confidential
- Employees will not post about business meetings
- The company has a social media team, and they are the only employees permitted to professionally post about the company
- If these guidelines are not followed, it will result in termination
We strive to be a responsible and respectful company, however, we cannot do this without our employees. We do appreciate the work our employees have done, and we look forward to the work we will do together without these distractions.
